"I received my new Javad GPS equipment a few days ago, and to say that I am happy would be an understatement! The receivers are compact and appear to be very well built. It's hard to believe, after being tied to wires for so many years, that I can carry an entire setup with just two hands and set up a single compact base and a rover, and survey without having a lot of stuff hanging all over me.
I have only preliminarily run the equipment on a test basis, but it appears to fix much faster than my older GPS and seems to have much greater receiver sensitivity, as evidenced by the fact that I can get fixed positions in areas that I could not before. I feel sure that these will make my GPS jobs a lot easier.

“Our firm had the opportunity to do a demo of and also leased the EPOCH25 GPS system for several months. My partner and I used the system on a good variety of projects including boundary, construction, and topographic surveys. We were impressed with the accuracy and the repeatability of its accuracy when returning to the same projects. We also appreciated the range we were able to obtain with the Pac Crest radios for boundary surveys where long distances were required. We tested the range and were over 5 miles before we decided that the range was more than adequate. I wish we had gone further just to see how far we could actually go.
Most of our projects were working with local coordinate systems and we found that consistently we were able to match the measurements with our total stations, which was a problem we found with other systems we have tried.
We decided not to purchase the EPOCH25 for only one reason. My partner and I are very comfortable with the Carlson SURVCE data collection software. I am sure the TDS software is very good, but we preferred the Carlson. I would recommend the EPOCH25 system to any surveyor, especially if they are currently using the TDS software and are comfortable with it. If we would have been able to use the Carlson data collection software with the EPOCH25 we would own the system.
Another key factor is the dealer service. Having had the opportunity to be a customer with Klein Survey Systems for many years made the decision very hard to not purchase the EPOCH25. Randy Klein and his staff have always been so helpful and customer oriented.”
